The Great American Amusement Parks

Synopsis:
This is the first publication I read about amusement parks as a kid. In the 1970's there were not too many books on parks. Though dated, this book does offer lots of interesting information about historic amusement parks. Kyriazi also has plenty of photos of coasters and thrill ride attractions as well as a photo of himself as a child at New York's defunct Steeplechase Park.
Though Kyriazi's book mostly focuses on the larger parks that operated in other parts of the country, he does offer a nice photograph of the Great Figure 8 Coaster that operated at Luna Park in Seattle and gives a bit of information about Seattle Center's Fun Forest as well as Oaks Park in Portland, Oregon. Prior to reading this book, I had not known about Seattle's Luna Park or of its coaster. In 1992, I later found this book in great condition in a used book store for $10.
