Caption and history:
The picture above was probably taken in the 1960s. Playland's Roller Coaster was originally called Giant Dipper or simply Dipper. The coaster was designed by Carl Phare and built by Robert Bollinger and his employees from Oaks Park in Portland, OR. Since its debut in 1958, the coaster has been well maintained and continues to thrill enthusiasts world-wide.
