Synopsis:
Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. and Kenny Rogers performed at the 1977 fair. Rogers had just begun his solo career as a pop country artist.

Besides music entertainment, Fun-Tastic Shows was earning their mark with the midway crowds. As quoted from the souvineer program, "Gayway has something new for the brave - and the not-so-adventurous. The brightly-lighted Gayway on the west side of the fairgrounds holds 63 rides, 39 of which are adult rides. These include the "Roller Coaster," "The Enterprise", "Monster Mouse," "Zipper," and the "Sky Diver." The 24 rides in the Kiddieland section include all the traditional delights plus a new go-cart track."

Much has changed since 1977. What was once kiddieland is now KiddieVille which is a new area that opened for the 2006 fair. And, the fair continues to expand the amusement section with taller, faster and more thrilling rides. Rumor has it that they plan to add an inverted coaster in the future. As the fair grows, there is more demand for newer rides and improved areas.
